Rimuka High School started at its current site in 1979. This was after the closure of the Mupamombe Primary School Upper Top in 1978. It absorbed its first group of O'Level students from the Mupamombe Upper Top. It began with a staff of seventeen teachers and over the years, the school has expanded tremendously and now has the capacity of enrolling over 2000 pupils requiring a staff complement of 80 teachers.
At its inception the school provided both aspects of an F1 school (predominantly academic) and F2 school (mainly subjects with a technical/vocational bias). The first Headmaster then was the current Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council Director Mr. Happy Ndanga. The institution is a Government School and has a vibrant parent SDC responsible for school development projects.
The school started offering Advanced Level lessons in 2000 for the following subjects; Literature in English, History, Divinity, Shona, Geography, Mathematics, Accounts, Business Studies and Economics. The school operates on two sessions from form 1 up to 4, one starting in the morning at 7, ending at 12, and the afternoon session beginning at 12, ending at 5PM. The A' Levels are not affected by the double sessions.
We have a highly qualified team of teachers which includes University Graduates , among our Staff we also have a lot of experieced personnel.
